The annual city street fair sponsored by the American Legion Post 290

This popular community event begins on Thursday evening at 6:30pm with a parade on Main St. After the parade, fair-goers can enjoy amusement rides, bingo, a wide selection of concessions,live music, and a trip to the “Big Tent”, which features local merchants, crafters, etc. The fair is open Thursday and Friday evening at 5pm. On Saturday, the fair opens at 12 noon for a kid’s discount afternoon.

Note* The fair closes at 11pm this year instead of midnight as in years past.

The City of Columbiana in collaboration with the Columbiana County EMA is now a member of Nixle. Nixle allows residents of Columbiana County to receive emergency alerts via text messaging to their cellphones as well as email. To sign up and start receiving alerts, visit http://local.nixle.com/register/ Create a new account by filling out the initial form. Then provide your street address. Nixle allows the City and County to specify an alert broadcast radius based on a specific location. If your account is setup with a home address in Columbiana but an alert for East Liverpool is sent out, you will not receive that alert. How ever, if a county wide alert is sent out, you would be included in that alert.

Additional addresses, such as a work address can be added to your account free of charge.

This is the opening weekend for the Summer Concert Series at the Firestone Park Gazebo. List of performing groups coming soon!

This afternoon the City of Columbiana issued a city wide parking ban effective immediately. The parking ban will remain in effect until Friday February 12^th at 6:00pm. Any vehicles found to be in violation of the parking ban are subject to ticketing and or towing!

The parade route runs from Heartland Christian School on Pittsburgh Street, North on South Main Street, East on East Park Ave and completes in the Columbiana Cemetery. Upon completion of the parade, the American Legion Post 290 conducts a memorial day service at the Veterans Memorial in the center of the Cemetery.

An annual evening race through the lovely Firestone Park and surrounding neighborhoods. Funds raised benefit American veterans.

Local merchants welcome springtime visitors. Special sales, street vendors and more are featured during Springtime in Columbiana.

TRICK-OR-TREAT in the city will be held Saturday October 31st from 5-7pm. Residence participating in Trick-or-Treat are reminded to turn on their porch lights to signify their participation.

City Council urges residents to attend the next Council meeting to have their input for the creation of a Storm Water Utility.

The City has experiences major flooding three times during this decade and is working on a plan to fix the storm sewer problems that have existed for the past fifty years. To fix the problems the City is anticipating a large infrastructure project that would entail a major expense. To pay for these infrastructure projects, the City is considering a Storm Water user fee. The fee would be collected and used to pay for debt service and to make other storm water related improvements.
